Andrew K. Preston is the senior associate attorney in the firm’s litigation department. With more than a decade of experience, he has handled numerous cases in both state and federal court from inception through trial and appeal.
Andrew began his career in the field of election law at the New York State Senate before becoming a Deputy County Attorney in the General Litigation Bureau of the Nassau County Attorney’s Office. For three years as a Deputy County Attorney, Andrew defended Nassau County and its employees in lawsuits alleging employment discrimination, civil rights violations, and Article 78 violations.
Since joining the firm five years ago, Andrew has represented both public and private sector corporations in a broad range of civil rights, land use and zoning, and commercial matters. He is admitted to practice law in the States of New York and New Jersey, as well as in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of New York and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
Andrew acts as counsel to the Zoning Boards of Appeals for: The Town of Hempstead, The Town of Oyster Bay, The Village of Garden City, and The Village of Lawrence. He is also a Special Prosecutor in the villages of Manorhaven and Lawrence.
